Labor Day with my parents, outdoor theater at the Getty Villa, visiting Star Wars Land for the first time, thrifting outdoor furniture at the flea market, and celebrating Gabby’s birthday.

Labor Day, office is closed and the sweat after my run was REAL.

My parents wanted to check out a rug store in hopes that a Labor Day sale would convince them to finally get a new rug. Their renovation is nearly complete after a year or so.

So many rugs, so little time. Well, so much time was spent in there, over an hour…no final decision was made but they got close with some options.

A big Monday feast: steamed fish, salt and pepper shrimp, orange chicken, noodles…

Watching the Heal, this year’s Villa Outdoor Theater play. It was directed by Aaron Posner, who put on another show Zach really liked a few years back in Pasadena. Was fun to see his take on the Greek classic.

Parked in the new lot…not sure why this felt so exciting.

It was also the first day of Halloween time at Disneyland, so there were pumpkins galore.

The park officially opened and a line formed walking towards Galaxy’s Edge aka Batuu

From Wookiepedia: “Batuu was a remote terrestrial planet on the edge of the galaxy’s Outer Rim Territories, in the Batuu system of the Trilon sector. Millenniua before the rise of the Galactic Empire, prior to the invention of hyperspace travel, Batuu was a popular stopping point for those traveling to Wild Space and the Unknown Regions. However, the opening of hyperspace routes caused the planet to be bypassed, resulting in the deterioration of the planet’s reputation into that of a forgotten backwater world.”

We headed to ride Smuggler’s Run aka the Millennium Falcon ride.

You can be three different roles in the cockpit (a pilot, engineer or gunner) and the first time we rode we were the gunners…not my strength. But it was fun! I kept reminding myself to enjoy the ride and not worry about shooting when told to, ahah

Went on the Smuggler’s Ride once again, the second time we got to be pilots which was a true challenge and very fun.

Then Indiana Jones! Weirdly not a crowded day, we just walked right on.

Our time slot for the Cantina came around and we rushed over.

I got the Fuzzy Tauntaun, which has this mysterious “buzz” foam on top that did seriously tingle it was so weird. But I enjoyed.

Finally rode the Casey Jr. Circus Train, a ride that somehow in our many years coming here we both never did together.

We wanted to see Galaxy’s Edge one more time at night, so we made our way through California Adventure and back to Disneyland

The next day we went to check out a pottery fair at the Craft Contemporary.

I was really overwhelmed by all the creative genius and talent and it was just awesome to see all the artist’s and their work up close.

We moved the top half of a cabinet we bought at the Rose Bowl Flea Market a few months back. We use the bottom half for a TV stand, and this has been sitting around waiting to find a purpose. But I think it looks ok!
